Here, unspeakable horrors lurk behind the veil of reality, and ancient gods toy in secret with their creations’ lives. The world we see is only a convenient illusion, concealing a nightmarish fate that lies but a breath away. Madness and terror await those who would seek its hidden truths, and there are things in the darkness that even shadows fear. Within the Deathscape world one can live in ignorant bliss, as long as care is taken not to dig too deep….
Deathscape is not pure horror, nor is it traditional fantasy; it’s something of a mixture of the two, although the setting is somewhat modern. The flavor of horror leans toward the cosmic, with some elements of more traditional tales, but despite this the story leans toward realism in some unexpected ways. As such, those with a sensitive stomach or nervous disposition are advised to proceed with caution.
As for the characters, they are mostly human, both in scope and individually; there are pure humans, “hybrids,” and more “gifted” individuals, but they all share one thing in common: they matter little in the grand scheme of things.
The currently ongoing story in Deathscape is The Revelation, the first major entry into the Mythos. It updates semi-weekly on Mondays, usually early morning Central Time.
