It hasn’t been a very long recovery, has it? I went in for surgery to have my gallbladder removed last Friday, and the surgery went well. Aside from a few non-health-related hiccups in post-op I managed to deal with the following day just fine. I went home on the 8th; the surgery was done via laproscope, and I had some minor trouble metabolizing the gas used in the operation. This, along with the other issues, delayed my placement in a room. I was pretty sore until about Wednesday, and yesterday my incisions were deemed healed enough to have my stitches removed.
I’m feeling more or less fine now, just a little tired and weak. I’m considered “recovered,” but I still can’t lift anything over 10 pounds for another 6 weeks. There’s also an issue that was discovered with my liver during surgery, but it’s minor and reversible (and you can blame my meds–either directly or the problems they give me with my weight). All in all, I’m feeling much better than I did in the weeks leading up to the surgery, and by next Sunday (not tomorrow) I should be ready for a full return to my site.
Now, I did mention I would be adding a new section, and adding some short stories to it. I started on the short story, but the increasing pain from my gallstones made me not very keen on finishing it at that time. Today I will be picking up where I left off, and by Wednesday I should be ready for another Mythos post, and to have the new subdomain go live, complete with the story in question. As always though, expect schedules to slip based on my mental health and–on occasion–some issues with my physical health. I will do my best to keep the site updated, but remember, I’m not in the workforce for a reason.
