I’ve been sick for a while now. Thought I was just getting a recurring stomach bug, but it may be more serious than that. My doctor did an ultrasound a couple of weeks ago and found that I have fatty liver and gallstones. Fatty liver is likely due to my weight, but possibly also due to my Depakote. Either way, it will likely resolve as I make changes to my diet. The gallstones could be caused by either weight, diet, genetics or all three. Well, needless to say I haven’t been keeping on top of my writing, and it may get worse. Hopefully not.

So if I don’t update for a while more, don’t be too surprised.

Before I get to back to work, I thought I’d get a character page up. The Deathscape Mythos will have quite a few characters after all, it would be nice for readers to have a page dedicated to them. Note that the artwork isn’t all as recent as I’d like, and it’s rather rough (I’m still learning), but for now it’s good enough to get a good impression of how the characters would look. Some of the artwork isn’t complete, being either sketches or line art, and the sheet itself is missing a few characters that will be added at a later date.

The Revelation will return in January! Look for the new chapter around the 7th.

Also: due to the lack of votes, the contest has been cancelled, and the original version of the Crimson Hawk remains. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, though, and I may restart the contest with the non-voted entries when my readership increases.

My apologies for being late again this week. I was taking a break due to the political media overload and experiencing some minor issues with mania. While I have no problem writing while manic, my quality takes a massive hit, and I sometimes do have difficulty with flight of ideas. I was originally going to take the whole week off to recuperate, but I no longer feel it is necessary.

Expect a double chapter this weekend. I know, I’ve said it before, but life intervened. See, it’s not just my own health and mental health that causes issues for me. A person very important to me suffers from a variety of physical disorders that leave her in constant pain and suffering from seizures. Sometimes it just gets bad enough that I have to stop what I’m doing and help her. This week as well as last week have both been those kinds of weeks.

So please be patient.

Working on some minor updates to the site. Specifically, the home page and plot summary for The Revelation will get better writing. Other updates done today include an About the Author page–viewable in the slide-out menu–and some reorganization. And since I missed a week in updates, you’ll get two the first week of November.
